The application of drawings on the photographic support began to be practiced by architects since the end of the nineteenth century and it developed during the first decades of the 20th century, when it was contaminated by the success of the artistic collage. The views obtained through collage exploit the realism of photography to demonstrate a possible future. In this way, the visionariness of thought becomes an existing work and the representation of architecture escapes conventions and enters the territories of narration. The use of collage to enhance the theoretical and narrative value of the project is experimented during the 20th century, and then finds a concrete substance in the 21st century, thanks to the process of digital collage. The collage technique of the digital era allows to conceive images with narrative values, capable of defining cultural visions of architecture. The essay analyses what can be considered the conceptual epicenters of digital collage with a theoretical vocation.Downloads
